Mountains in the Way
As we move further into the New Year and you start looking at how to fulfill your mission it may seem that the way ahead looks like it’s going to be hard. Sorry, but it probably will be although that is an inevitable part of life. It’s not personal and we all face it so you are not being singled out for some divine punishment – God doesn’t work that way. The good news though, as the famous American radio commentator Paul Harvey (1918-2009) once said, ‘You can always tell when you’re on the road to success; it’s uphill all the way.’
As you push through this year think about the soldiers in the picture below. Imagine fighting through that! Well they did and you can face the mountains before you. One way you can do this is through belief. As Mark notes in the New Testament (11-23) Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
